Our Story

How it all Began

Four Generations

My great-grandfather was a lighting artisan in Fez. My grandfather refined the techniques in Marrakech. My father mastered the patinas that make brass come alive. Now, I carry this knowledge forward—not as preservation, but as evolution.

Growing up surrounded by ceramicists and metalworkers in Morocco’s coastal towns, I watched how material, form, and craft connect us to something essential. Textures layered over centuries. Patterns that encode cultural memory. Forms that feel inevitable because they’ve been refined across generations.

In 2023, I launched BELYADI to share this heritage with the world—not as nostalgia, but as living craft that serves contemporary life.

“Each piece passes through many hands before finding its home. That journey—from molten brass to your space—is where craft becomes soul.”

The Atelier

100% Handmade in Morocco

Nothing leaves our workshop in Morocco unless it has passed through the hands of artisans who’ve trained for years in techniques their teachers learned decades ago.

We cast brass and copper using sand molds—the same method used for 400 years. Each piece is filed, ground, and hand-finished across seventeen stages. Patinas are applied through oxidation processes that take days, not minutes.

Material, Form, Craft

To me, the relationship between material, form, and craft is deeply connected to what it means to be human. Each BELYADI fixture is an invitation into a world of simplicity, functionality, and history.

Every creation passes through many minds and hands—absorbing energy and soul—before moving on to adapt to new environments and lives.

Built to Last

We don’t build fixtures to be replaced in a decade. We forge pieces that become more yours over time. Brass deepens. Patinas gain character. Small marks tell stories.

This is the opposite of disposable luxury—it’s material honesty that rewards patience.
